Entry for December 03, 2006 FAMILY REUNION!!!!

It had been over two years since our family all gather for a reunion. New faces and a lot of older faces were in attendance.  All the previous gathering were set up by my two sisters. This year some of the younger girls wanted to plan the event, and man did they put on one outstanding reunion. This was the first time they had planned such an event. They acquired the meeting place, sent our invites and requested recipes to publish a Burton cookbook. Most all submited their favorite recipes and favorites of our later Dad, Mom, Sister, and Brother.  A couple were quite funny as I had time this morning to read some of them, one in particular, Stuffed chicken with popcorn stuffing. The last line in the recipe stated when the oven door blows open and the chicken flies out of the oven YOU KNOW IT'S DONE!! Everyone brought favorite foods and deserts , many were seen to return for seconds. My wife cooked a big ham, green beans, corn, made tea and brownies. The young kids liked those and us old kids loved them!! Young kids were roaming around have a good time without a worry in the world. After dinner we all made pictures of each family. The girls had a suprise after all those family pics.  A T.V. was sent up with a slideshow of old and new pictures of the family's great memories in Pictures from the past and recent pictures. We all laughed and some tears were shed as we remembered those loved ones who have passed from this earth and know without their efforts in years past this family would not exist.  Regards All !!
